I have trouble choosing just one, as so many offer possibilities. However, were I forced to choose one quickly, I would have to say an Elf, preferably one of high rank in the Bright Courts of Faerie.
Well, Dragon would be # 1 choice, such a strong, wise , and noble creature they are. And as all, 2nd would be an Elf, followed by a Hobbit....(hey they relax, smoke and drink all day is there anything else?)
I think I would like to be a shapechanger like the ones from James Clemens series The Banned and Banished. They are normally Elf like, but say they want to be a dragon they just change into one or a Elf or even a Mermaid. :) The best of all worlds.
I have always, always wanted to be an elf. At least as far back as my memory goes an even more so since I read Elfquest in grade school. We even taped our fingers together so we would have the right number.. oh goodness, there goes my geeky side...lol
If I had to pick a second, I would want to be a fairy. They are all magical, fly around and even cause a bit of mischief in a lot of stories.
Oh, I know. I always feel so awkward when I start geeking out in conversation with someone who isn't a fantasy fan! I'm sure it sounds like I'm speaking in tongues or something.
Actually, the other day Robert and I were at lunch with our bosses and I was working really hard not geek out when suddenly my boss says "Have you seen that show Firefly?"
HAHA! That would totally throw me off. I had a boss ask me out of the blue if I had ever read the Harry Potter books. I don't know if she overheard me talking or what.. it was weeeeeeeeeeeeeird to say the least.
Yeah, I have to admit that I'd love to be a faerie too. My first novel attempt is actually going to be based around a male pixie named Cubit. I've roleplayed him quite a bit and I love him dearly.
