For those of you who don't know, Legend of the Seeker is and upcoming TV show based on the book Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. It will be premiering on ABC on November 1st or 2nd depending on your local channel so check your local listings. It has been advertised everywhere as premiering on the 1st though and I have some thoughts that I posted about that over at my blog.

So, what do you all think about the show? I personally can't wait for it! I'm a big fan of the series and hope they do a good job of staying true to the spirit of the book while making it entertaining in a TV format.

Woah! ABC!? That seems weird.. It will be interesting to see if it is going to be cheesy or not.. There is huuuuge potential for disaster.. but I'll definitely have to keep an eye out for it.. I think the name is a little hokey, but that's just me..

Yeah, I wasn't the biggest fan of the name either. I try not to think too much about it. heh. It's weird hearing him being called Richard Cypher again. It caught me off guard when I heard it in the trailer. I'm going into the show with rather low expectations so that hopefully I won't be disappointed.

Well....about the whole name thing (to both of you) There's a 40 second youtube video where Terry Goodkind answers a question about that at Comic Con. It's short and simple but I thought I'd put it out there.

I still think it's a hokey name.. sounds like a cartoon ..lol

Haha! I hadn't thought of that, but it really does lol

I agree. I think that "The Seeker of Truth" would have still been much better than the current title.

I dunno ... I kinda like it. Reminds me of the Xena: Warrior Princess days, LOL.

I've never read the novel, but I saw the commercial...So excited for something like this on network TV!

My only worry is that I'll be annoyed by the fact that the leading lady doesn't have an English accent. It really bothers me for some reason...always has (low-budget fantasy/sci-fi movies like to nix English accent, too). It's just not as...fantasy-like for me. But I'll definitely give it a chance!

Adding Terry Goodkind to my list of authors to read...a familiar name that should have already been there. Now I just need a library card!

Gookind is an American author so nobody really should have an English accent. I'm just worried that they'll make it campy.

You really need to get a library card. Have you seen the downtown library? It's a really awesome 10 story building. I LOVE that library.

Must get myself that that library. I rarely go downtown since I stress over finding parking and worrying about hitting oblivious pedestrians, but thankfully my husband gets free parking on the weekends where he works. I now know what we're doing this weekend! :D

Let's hope this series remains un-campy and captures the essence of fantasy even without my beloved English accents, hehe :)

You should take the bus! Have you figured out the Trip Planner on the bus website? You can put in where you are, where you want to go, and it will tell you which buses to take. Then you don't have to worry about parking-I ALWAYS take bus downtown

Yeah, I'm in love with English accents myself. I could listen to them for days. Oh, and you should really check out the bus system if you haven't already. We hate driving down town too, so we just drive to a park & ride and take the bus. Although if you are near Aurora you would probably be by the 358 bus line and there can be some real nutballs on there. It was rather amusing when we lived there.
