Anyone reading these books Eragon, Eldest and now Brisingr.

I just finished Brisingr and thought it started off pretty slow but it soon found a direction and the middle to end really rocked.

I've read the first two and I got the third one for my birthday. Unfortunately it's collecting dust right now. Kushiel's Avatar is overdue at the library right now and I need to finish that first. Brisingr's next up on my list though. I think they are a lot of fun. The child that Eragon blesses in Eldest was hella creepy and awesome. I need to hurry up and finish Kushiel's Avatar. Jacqueline Carey's books are such slow reads for me, but I LOVE them to death.

(I have not read the Inheritance Cycle yet)

I was under the impression that most people must have found Brisingr slow in the beginning because a lot of my friends who read rather quickly usually had Brisingr as their "currently reading" book for a very very long time! I only ran into one person who sped through it- a young boy who was 3/4 of the way through the day after release. I saw him at the lobby at work with his bookmark almost all through his book-he'd gone to the midnight release and stayed up all night reading. He was pretty shocked that I, an adult, knew what he was reading without the dust cover on, heh.

I'm glad to hear that it picks up. I put it down awhile back because it was draaaaaaaaaaagging and I had some other books calling my name. I did enjoy the first two books so I guess I'll pull it off the shelf and give it another whirl... after I finish what I've got going now. =)

I just started this finally. Hope I don't get put off by the slow beginning and go back to JC. I really want to read Brisingr, heh.

Sat down and read it in a day.. powered through the slow stuff.. I wanted more action but the were definitely some very interesting developments and some of my suspicions have been confirmed (woohoo! Won 10 bucks too!). HAHA!

I am a little disappointed that he didn't stick to the trilogy thing, but I'll forgive him as long as it doesn't drag on a la Wheel of Time ish.. lol

I understand it going out to 4 books. It's better than the last book being a huge monster or getting cut down to 5-600 pages and losing all the detail and plot development.

I enjoyed all three books so far.. but this third book felt like he wrote the third book then realized it had to make it four and went back and expanded some storyline that I felt didn't need expanding... but that's just my opinion.

I agree... I get nervous now whenever things start to expand.. sooooo does this mean they are setting it up to go on indefinitely??? ugh!

Well according to the Author he wrote book three and halfway through it realized there was more story to tell then he expected and expanded it to four books.. so as of know it's only four books.. but the fourth book isn't out yet.. so will see.

eeeeeeeeeeexactly.. I'm hoping he is able to wrap it all up in four..
