Claire isn't in the poster, but I think Emilie De Ravin will be back. Maybe she'll be one of the others that don't age now. Who knows. I just know they better do more to explain what the hell happened to her.
*SPOILERS* ---This is about the "Sneak Peek" video posted above. You don't want to read what I have to say in this reply unless you want to watch that video with two minutes of footage from season 5's first episode. You were warned!
As I sort of mentioned in this news post about the sneak peek video, I'm convinced that since Jack is getting all conspiratorial with Ben and they need Kate to go back to the island, Jack sent those guys to get a blood test to scare her into leaving and going with him. *gasp* Jack's a meanie.
By the way-I came to this conclusion after Robert said "I bet it was Jack" and I gasped and OMG'd for a minute.
Ooooooh, today this little article here on freep came out where behind the scenes gurus have said...
"Speaking of sardonic hunk Sawyer, will he get the screen time he deserves? "We really feel it's the year of Sawyer," says Lindelof. "He's really stepping up in a major way."
The year of Sawyer? Oh yay! On the poster it looked like he should be taking a bigger role since it looks like (to me, at least) Sawyer is the leader of those left behind (who aren't crazy like Locke...)
The other stuff from that article:
"Lost" (8 p.m. recap, 9 p.m. season debut Jan. 21, WXYZ-TV, Channel 7, ABC). How would executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof describe the opening scenes of the season premiere of "Lost"?
Compelling, says Cuse.
Groovy, says Lindelof.
Sounds intriguing, but then again, that's what makes "Lost" special. "What we don't want to do in season five is basically stand around sort of shifting from one foot to another waiting for the last season of the show," says Cuse of the acclaimed ABC series that's set to wrap in 2010. "Like it or not, we decided to take some chances this year and be bold in our storytelling and we're willing to accept the consequences of that."
As the story picks up again, Jack and Ben are trying to reunite the Oceanic 6 and return them to the island, with Locke's body in tow, in a quest to save the remaining castaways. But it's going to be tricky convincing everyone to cooperate. And since Ben moved the island at the end of last season's finale, they'll have to figure out where -- and when -- it went.
Expect a lot of interesting things to happen sooner rather than later. But "Lost" is a character-driven journey, too, so there'll be plenty of focus on the romantic quadrangle of Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet.
I dunno what I think about more Sawyer time. I want more Benry. He's the best character on the show. I hope he stays as interesting as he's been so far.
Just as Christopher Walken needs more cow bell, so too does Lost need more Desmond. Given that Ben is now basically at war with Charles Widmore, I suspect that Penny and Des will be caught in the crossfire.
