Science Fiction and Fantasy Conventions, Gaming Cons, and Other Fannish Events

I'll be attending FaerieCon in Baltimore, MD next month for the third year in a row (First two years were in Philadelphia -- they moved when the attendance topped 10,000), and as such, I always look to pick up new books, peruse the artwork, and attend as many of the activities I can cram into each day. I've also attended several dozen other conventions over the past 40 years, so I can't claim that I know nothing about the convention circuit.
I also attend Renaissance Faires and Fairy Festivals.
What about the rest of you? Do you attend or have you attended similar events? Would you if you knew about them? Why or why not?
