Personally, I can't make it to the theatre until Saturday morning-but I know some people are starting at midnight! Post here with your thoughts once you've seen the movie!
This thread will hopefully be full of SPOILERS. :)
I had a lot of fun seeing the midnight release with the "Book Club Chicks." I posted about it here. I liked the movie, but it definitely had a low budget feel.
Now, I've never been a midnight showing so maybe I'm missing something-but why didn't it start until 12:40 if it was supposed to start a few minutes after midnight?
It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. The few scenes they showed in the trailers always seemed rather awkward. And while some of them still seemed that way in context, the rest of the movie was well done. It really was quite a lot of fun. There were definitely some things that bothered me. (The way Bella escaped). Gah! She just walked out the freaking door! What about Alice seeing the future!? They could have at least shown them giving chase. But overall I think they did a good job. I can't wait for the next one! :)

I loved it! I'll be going to see it again before it leaves theaters. I was surprised that it had quite a few humorous moments! I loved Alice, she was absolutely perfect!! I was also disappointed with Bella's escape from Alice and Jasper... but, that was minor. I loved how the showed Bella and Edward having intimate conversations here and there throughout the movie. It lets the viewer know that they are getting to know each other, and that their relationship is growing. Victoria was awesome. I loved the way they showed her at the end.
I think New Moon will be way better. Summit will have a lot more money to spend on it!!
I love Victoria, too. I've seen her in a number of other things and I think she's a great actress, she does good interviews, and she was great in Twilight. I loved the bit with her at the end!!
It did have an awkward feel to it, but I liked the movie. We're going to see it again tomorrow (Friday) with my sisters. Did your sister like it?
I liked that they showed Edward and Bella having conversations, too. And I liked the kiss scene-I liked that he flung himself across the room! His body going stiff the way it does in the books just wouldn't have quite the impact-this actually made me jump because I wasn't expecting it. LOVED it.
I loved Alice! And though Jasper had like, no lines, I liked the guy who played him, too. :)
I'm so excited for New Moon! I hope they'll come around and decide to shoot New Moon and Eclipse at the same time...it would be good, to keep the actors at the same age. Doing them separately will be years of process.
I loved Alice too. She was awesome. I can't wait to see more of her in the later books. I hope she gets a bigger role in the movies than she did in the books because I didn't get enough of her in the books. :) Jasper kinda drove me nuts. And I was sad that they didn't mention his power either. Mainly I think it was a few of his expressions and his OMGTerrible hair. I liked Victoria too. It was good that they let you know that she was after Bella at the end.
Yeah, I think it brings more continuity to the stories that way. Books seem able to get away with it, but in a movie if they just told us that Victoria was still coming after her without mentioning it in the first movie it would seem like it wasn't thought out ahead of time. Movies are funny that way.

I know!!! Jasper had old-lady-do going on!! What was up with that?
Hopefully they will all talk more in future movies. I could never get enough of the Cullens. They are all so interesting. Looking forward to seeing more of the wolves, too.
Yeah, I really hope they fix his hair in New Moon. I'm sure they will do something, but who knows if it will be better. heh. I'm worried the Cullens won't have that large a role in any of the movies because of time constraints. It makes me sad.

LOL... those are so funny!
I went to see Twilight again, Friday. A few of those points definitely applied! I liked it even better the second time. My favorite scenes, in no particular order:
*When Carlisle walked into the emergency room to see Bella... so dreamy (did I just use the word dreamy???)
*When Charlie pumps the shotgun
* Every scene with Victoria... I really like her in the movie.
*Edward's spider monkey line... swoon
*I think it's hilarious when Edward says He's killed people and Bella says she doesn't care. It doesn't really come off well, just kind of like she's dumb or in denial.
*I love the dance scene at the end... so romantic (I'm such a girl.)
I thought you were seeing it twice that day with your sister-did that not happen?
I LOVE the Charie shotgun scene! It was absolutely awesome!
*I think it's hilarious when Edward says He's killed people and Bella says she doesn't care. It doesn't really come off well, just kind of like she's dumb or in denial. LOL I thought the same thing! Which was weird because I believe it's still in the same scene, shortly after that, where they have the lion and the lamb moment and I did like how they did that, which stood out more after that awkward way she said "I don't care"
I love the dance scene at the end, too :) I loved the end, really, it felt right and true to the book, while still being a little different.
