2009 Highlights…

If you block out all the traumatizing stuff, I had a GREAT year!!! January · My first magazine cover publication. The Meadow was chosen for the cover art of the first issue of The Fairy Society Magazine · The trip to Eugene, Oregon, with my friend Rachel Keay to attend the FaerieWorlds Masquerade Ball. Walking through Downtown Eugene [...]

Alt Fashion Magazine – Art Spread

This summer I was asked to create more art for Rachel Van Asch of Van Asch Clothing. When she sent the reference photos over I knew this would be another exciting project to work on! Lovely models wearing beautiful and edgy clothing from the Van Asch “Unique Boutique” inspired a more fashion-focused approach to the [...]

Review of “Witch on the Water”

As I mentioned in a previous post, I had the pleasure of developing & designing the official websites for authors Christine & Ethan Rose. This included special sites for their two (so far) published novels, Rowan of the Wood and Witch on the Water. I helped send Witch to the Top and bought the book [...]

On the cover of Spirit Seeker Magazine

My creation, “Birth of Dawn” made the cover of the October, 2009 issue of Spirit Seeker Magazine! This was created back in March as a warm-up for the FAE Magazine art, and it features my good friend Kristy Rose. Inside there is even a little bio about me. You can check out the latest issue of [...]

Send Witch to the Top!

Way back in February of last year, I told you to go out and buy a new fantasy novel called Rowan of the Wood. Over a year and a half later, Rowan is an award-winning story being sold at book stores all over the country! Its authors, Christine & Ethan Rose, are following up with [...]

I think it's funny that the first part of the remaining trilogy is the same title of the long awaited final book from Kate Elliott's Crown of Stars series, "THE GATHERING STORM" :)

Mediaeval Baebes

I'll be writing about this amazing Classical Medieval band on my blog in the near future, but I thought I'd introduce them to those on Fantasy Fanspace who are not familiar with them. Their music is in a realm of its own, full of magic and fantasy. The Mediaeval Baebes were born in London in 1996 when Katharine Blake gathered a group of friends together to sing songs set to medieval scripts. Classically trained,… Continue

It was a gorgeous day in the desert for Easter... I miss waking up to all the robins in the yard that always said spring for me when I was in Alaska..

But we had an amazing drive over to Death Valley, lovely spring wildflowers and the cactus are blooming all over - Love it!

Yeah the sculptor! I saw this documentary on his display on the ceiling in Vegas a long time and I've been fascinated ever since. It is so crazy and strangely fluid.. :)

Ahh... so many wonderful places to see! =)

Bellingham is a super cool little place. As a book lover, you would appreciate "Village Books" in Fairhaven (one of the older parts of town). There are also a couple of really cool new/used stores too lurking around - love it!

There isn't an extension of UW in Bellingham. There is a good size school there but no Library Science program. I will likely have to commute off and on into the city and will be doing my Master's mostly "distance."

I really miss good conversation.. here it mostly involves who is in jail, getting out of jail and on probation. I so wish I wasn't exaggerating that.. LOL

There is so much awesome stuff in Seattle. Have you seen any of the Chihuly exhibits???

I so wish I had stumbled upon how super cool being a Librarian would be when I was younger. It just never occurred to me as a career (duh! I was like the biggest lover of books I knew...)

Anyway... I love the Northwest... and I'm definitely going to be back there as soon as finances permit. I grew up in Alaska so it's like going home for me in a sense.

I will probably be north of Seattle up in the Bellingham area. I have a sister up there and a few other assorted relatives and I LOVE Bellingham. It's just big enough and just small enough to be suitable for a former island dweller. =)

I am excited to be starting to form more friendships with people up there too. I just keep finding more of them! LOVE it! Will definitely help having peeps to go to lunch with and stuff! =)

Elementary Ed with an English Emphasis (no reading specialist program here). I am going after a Master's in Library Science after.. Hopefully, and UW in Seattle.. I desperately, desperately want to go back to the Northwest.. So praying I can land a job up there out of college. :)

I think the worst part about being a "non-traditional" students.. isssssssssss.. the traditional students.. and its really bad here.. I and I do say this objectively was NEVER so disrespectful to other people in learning situations..

NOT social hour thanks.. LOL

I have many more years left...sigh

I am trying to focus on the baby steps... one semester at a time.. because I'm too OLD to drag this out forever!

Definitely prefer my fantasy books to my math book (which is likely why I"m not doing the best in math).. ROFL

I know! How can I possibly read them all??? Maybe once I'm no longer in school all bogged down with homework.. LOL

Sometimes I wish I could have superpowers like speedreading or something..lol
