Editing as you gou is really tedious. Wait until your done. When I have the carcass laid out, it's easier to go back to flesh it out. Then you can hit everything - grammar, continuity, run-on sentences....NaNoWriMo is good for that:)

Barely cool the autumn winds of Culvinor blow
A softly floating warning, winging to and fro.
Standing tall on highest ramparts
Gazing out upon the plain
Sigimund the Gentle spies an army,
Sharp-arrayed barbarian army,
Precept Voig of Vanuatu at the reins.
Bitter chill the winter winds of Culvinor gust
Vanuaran hordes advancing, eyes dark with warrior-lust.
Both armies battle bravely
Ever-fierce and over-long
King and precept sore determined

The Swans of Abbotsbury
A hundred decades past they came to Abbotsbury's shore
Six hundred strong through sunlit azure skies they soar
Descending upon lake of smoothest crystal. Evermore
To return, remain and come again at Yule repast for

Pinky
My Pinky ain't no lady
Quaffing ale with the best
Dragon camped upon your doorstep?
She'll make short work of the pest
Pinky looks to be a lady
With hair of softest flax
But I warn you, don't get caught between
Her temper and her axe!
Several louts have quickly seen
The error of their ways
Soprano they'll be singing
For however long their days
Now stand I here to tell you
That this woman changed my life
Once Pinky was my lover
She soon became my wife

Save warriors brave and true
Should god's commandments be usurped
Fools arrogance will rue
For he who runs in shadow
Goes as thrall against his fears
An day comes when he need depart
Greet with naught but grief and tears
There is none constant but the night
Should you meet the road he's sown
Taking up the Champion's mantle
