Yesterday was my 28th birthday. Man, I'm getting OLD. But despite being a decrepit old man I did have quite a bit of fun. First on the agenda was opening presents. We decided not to focus much on presents for our birthdays this year, but mine were still pretty awesome. I got a booster of Magic cards because my wife heard how disappointed I was with the cards I'd opened recently. She's so sweet. I got the new Ratchet and Clank game for my PSP which promises to be great fun.

My final present was the Nightfall expansion pack for Guild Wars! I'm so incredibly excited. I need to play through it and get Eye of the North before Guild Wars 2 comes out next year. I played a little bit last night, but I seriously need to get my regular mouse up and running because playing an MMO with a touch pad mouse is HARD.

Now, moving on from the present portion of the day before I just keep rambling about Guild Wars. We decided to focus our day on doing things instead of getting presents, so after I opened those up we were off to the Seattle Aquarium. It was totally amazing! There is a whole section where you can touch all the plant and animal life you would find in a tide pool. I had no idea that starfish got so huge! I really need to get to the ocean more often. There were two other things there that still really stand out in my head. The octopus. It was massive! The tentacles were like five feet long.

The best part of the trip to the aquarium though was definitely the sea otters. OMG CUTENESS! Seriously. I have some video of them swimming around that I may try to post on the web somewhere when I get it off my camera. We seriously could have spent all day watching them swim around and play. We saw river otters too, but they were sleeping. Honorable mention goes to the seals who apparently like to eat ice for dessert.

After leaving the aquarium we walked up the street a little way to Pike Place Market and stopped and got some yummy food at Piroshky Piroshky! We stopped there on the first trip we made to Pike Place after I moved here and we eat there every time we go to Pike Place now. Not only do they serve amazing piroshky, but they also serve some amazing sweet treats like the apple cinnamon roll. It's a huge cinnamon roll with small pieces of apple wedged into the cracks. I don't know why more people don't make those! After eating our food we wandered around Pike Place for a while which is always enjoyable. I still need to get myself one of the ocarinas they sell down there.

Next, we moved on to watch a movie. The choices were between Guy Ritchie's (RocknRolla) latest and Kevin Smith's latest (Zach and Miri Make a Porno). How can one go wrong in this situation? We ended up choosing Zach and Miri and I think we made the right choice. We laughed our asses off! We missed quite a few lines in the movie because we were laughing so hard and so was everyone else. I'd love to see it again and I NEVER watch movies more than once in the theater. I hardly every want to rewatch things on DVD. If you think it looks retarded on the previews, ignore them. There's probably only about 2 minutes of the whole movie that are suitable to put on TV. It is a Kevin Smith movie about filming a porno after all. If you are easily offended by crude language please do me a favor and don't watch this movie and bitch about it. Thanks.

The final part of my birthday fun was dinner at Teapot Vegetarian House in Redmond. As usual the food there was great. We got the big Bobo Platter sampler appetizer and ended up taking home most of our food to be eaten at breakfast this morning.

All in all, it was an amazing birthday. Many thanks to my wonderful wife for all of her great ideas. Now I'm off to play some Guild Wars!

You are welcome :)

It was a really fun day!

You wouldn't just be offended by crude language-there werenaked people having sex, and I'm sure that would bother some people. It was absolutely hysterical, though-and better because we were in a theatre full of people laughing!
